Prayer to find a husband jewish

The marital integrity of the Jewish people was legendary in ancient and medieval times, and Jewish family life is idealized even in these days of upheaval. What qualities make Jewish marriage so stable? Jewish marriage is not designed for the ethical management of the sexual drive, nor is it a concession to human weakness. Jewish marriage makes its appearance within the natural order of creation, not as a law promulgated by Moses nor as a legal sanction, but as a blessing from God. Marriage was created at the beginning, at the same time the principles of marriage were created. It was not an afterthought, designed to control their passions, but part of the natural order of human society.

This is a great book for a person like me, not very organized in my religious observances I found everything I needed, and if those prayers are still not answered May be one day One person found this helpful.

Loved the history of the prayers. Beautifully written. This is perfect for almost any woman that has an interest in prayer and not having to follow the set format of a service or is too busy to. It covers just about any situation and is written in both Hebrew and English so that you can pray in English especially of you don't understand Hebrew well. I recomend this as a gift at any occation for someone who has interests in Jewish thoughts.

I love this book because it has so much history and tells you where the prayers come from, often who wrote them and why, and what situation they were in when each one was written. Some of the prayers are translations or alternate versions of standard prayers found in standard siddurim.

Each prayer is written in English, and then the facing page is either Hebrew or Yiddish or Ladino! Beautifully written, beautifully collected, something to cherish and pass down to the young ladies in the family!

I have been using this to extend my regular prayers, and to extend my own conversations with HaShem. Prayers for joyous occasions, troubling times, daily thoughts, etc. There is even a beautiful, short Haggadah written on toilet paper during the holocaust by a concentration camp victim, slipped to another woman just before the author passed on! Even the way this book came about is beautiful Beautifully written, however not as many prayers as I expected nor the type I was looking for.

I read out of it here and there for the everyday prayer and pregnancy. This is good when traveling as I have this and my bible downloaded into Kindle. Saves on how much packing I have to do. See all reviews from the United States. Top international reviews.

Please, you're not helping. I am absolute, total, and complete rubbish at praying for others. My prayers are usually short and direct. They get the job done just fine for me, but when I am asked to pray for others my short, direct prayers do not meet their needs.

I find they want the elegant language, they need to hear the pretty words-- it brings them comfort. After hearing me pray for them, they go away feeling deflated, defeated, and wanting. This book is allowing me to pray for people using words they understand, that bring them comfort, and leave them feeling better. More than that, the prayers contained within the pages have shown me a structure for prayer that I find pleasantly appealing. I am learning I can use the prayers in this book to craft my own.

I didn't really know what to expect from this book I am well pleased with what I found. Thank you for your feedback. Sorry, we failed to record your vote. Please try again.

Each prayer has some history attached where is needs, I found this Jewish Woman's Prayer a delight. They are all really lovely and unique prayers, however they concentrate more on the live of a married woman. I do not get up early to make porridge for my children and therefore do not have to pray for my children's and my husband's wellbeing I don't recommend it to women who are not married and have children because many of the prayers do not apply to you.

Just like You found the true partner for Adam Ha-Rishon, for Avraham, Yitzchak, Yaakov and Moshe, each one his true partner at the right moment and time. And please let the partner that You choose for me be a good man, one with pleasantness of action, a master of good deeds, a man of grace with intelligence and fear of God, a pursuer of charity and a doer of kindnesses. May he not have even a little insufficiency, or physical defect, or imperfection, and not be an angry or aggressive man. May he just be modest with a humble spirit, healthy, and strong. May the words of my mouth and the thoughts of my heart find favor before You, Hashem, my Rock and my Redeemer.

Marriage & God

About once a month, in private homes in San Francisco and on the Peninsula, a group of about a dozen Jewish women gets together to pray for husbands. They've tried dances and mixers. They've placed personals ads and tried dating services. And when those avenues failed, they've turned to Torah.
